Coastal Life & Family Day Out

Only 15 minutes away from the Old Rectory you will find the coastal towns of Aldeburgh and Thorpeness for a traditional seaside escape.

Aldeburgh is world-renowned thanks to its connection with Benjamin Britten, the founder of the Aldeburgh Festival, which takes place in June every year. Pastel-coloured 19th Century holiday villas line the promenade and to the east, the pebble beach with fisherman’s huts selling the daily catch and finally, the best fish and chips in the world!

Thorpeness, is a small village dominated by the Mere, which is popular all year round and bears witness to the village’s fantastical past with pretty mock Tudor houses and the fairy-tale ‘House in the Clouds’

Just 10 minutes away, Children might like to meet the animals at Easton Farm Park. An amazing interactive farm, fun for the whole family which is also a good escape if it rains with an indoor barn.

Children from 4 years old can try an Poney ride lesson at Valley Farm.
